About
In 1977, Doctor Fred Kudish and his wife Lynn purchased Hickory Hill Orchards in Cheshire, Connecticut, as the future home for their family. With no agricultural experience or intention of being the farmers, they leased the property to outside fruit growers for their first year. But as they watched the land not maintained to their standards, Fred and Lynn made a pact to turn Hickory Hill Orchards into their passion project, with Fred as the farmer and Lynn managing the business and country store.
Now owned and operated by the Kudish family for over 35 years, Hickory Hill Orchards has become a lifelong business and infatuation for their family, including their two daughters and son-in-law. With over 33 acres, the orchard produces over twenty varieties of apples, peaches, pears, plums, and nectarines for picking, eating, baking, and enjoying. The artisanal country store offers all of our homegrown produce and gourds, jams, honeys, locally baked apple cider donuts, gourmet foods, seasonal decorative items, and more.
Hickory Hill Orchards is open for Pick-Your-Own every day (mid-August through November) from 9:30 am to 6pm, and is just 2 hours away from New York City and Boston. Hickory Hill Orchards now accepts wedding and event inquiries from April through October.
