Armand T. and Irene V. Audette founded the funeral home in 1994. Armand, an entrepreneur and astute businessman, and Irene, Armand’s helpmate and the company accountant, both had a vision to provide the community with a funeral home that provided a comfortable atmosphere for people during the most trying period of their lives. Prior to Armand’s passing, they turned over the home to their daughter, who up to that time had served as president of the corporation. Carolyn Audette Smith, the founder’s daughter, was born and raised in Kensington, Connecticut. She attended Berlin High School, and was a parishioner of Saint Paul Church. She is active in numerous civic organizations in the town and currently lives with her husband in Kensington. Carolyn carries on her mother and father’s original vision, and she and her staff strive to provide Berlin and the surrounding community with “Caring Service with a Gentle Hand.”
